What Is The Creative Economy?

Unlike more traditional economic sectors, the creative economy is not linked to a single industry but is an industry unto itself, unified by its underlying characteristics of cultural creativity. It's creative artists and entrepreneurs. It's nonprofit organization focused on the arts, humanities and cultural heritage. It's private-sector businesses whose products and services (and the profits that come from them) are dependent on a healthy creative workforce.

Benefits of the creative economy
  • Attracts and retains the best and brightest workforce
  • Helps to instill creative thinking and problem solving
  • Creates a community in which students have higher test scores
